We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all safety

This is the safety alert symbol.
This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or hurt you and others.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury when using your portable heater, follow these basic precautions:
1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not
let bare skin touch hot surface. If provided, use
handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers,
clothes and curtains at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the front
of the heater and keep them away from the sides and
rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used
by or near children or invalids and whenever the
heater is left operating and unattended. This appliance
is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lackof experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or
plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or
return to authorized service facility for examination
and/or repair.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms,
laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never
locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other
water container. Do not use this heater in the
immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a
swimming pool.
8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with
throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord
under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic
areas and where it will not be tripped over.
9. To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, and then remove
plug from outlet.
10. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation
or exhaust opening as this may cause an electrical shock or
fire, or damage the heater.
11. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a
bed, where openings may become blocked.
12. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not
use it in an area where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids
are used or stored.
13. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other
use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electric shock or injury to persons.
14. Always plug heaters directly into a wall
outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or
relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
15. Check your heater cord and plug connections. A loose fitting
outlet can cause the plug to overheat and / or cause a fire.
Be sure plug fits tight in the outlet. Check frequently during
use to make sure plug and outlet are not hot. If so,
discontinue using heater and have outlet replaced by a
qualified electrician.
Note: Heaters draw more current than small appliances,
overheating of the outlet may occur even if it has not
occurred with the other appliances.

Electrical Connection
■ To Properly install your portable heater, plug the two prong
power cord into a grounded 220v outlet.
■ This portable heater is rated 1800 watts at 220 VAC, 50 Hz.

NOTES:
■ Check that there is a 3 ft (0.9 m) minimum clearance on all
sides of the portable heater.
■ Remove the heater from the box and remove packaging
materials. Keep packaging material for seasonal storage of
the portable heater.
■ Place the heater on a firm, level, open surface free from
obstructions.

Power and Heat Setting
A. Power indicator LED
B. High heat button
C. Low heat button
D. Power on/off button
1. Press the Power button on the front of the portable heater.
See “Power and Heat Setting” illustration.
The power indicator LED will be lit.
2. Press HIGH (1800 watts) or LOW (1000 watts) to select the
desired power setting.
3. To turn off the portable heater, press the Power button again.
Temperature
Temperature Control Knob
1. Turn the portable heater on. See the “Power and Heat
Setting” illustration.
2. Turn the Temperature knob to the desired temperature
setting from 50ºF (10ºC) to 85ºF (29ºC) or set to Continuous
Heat.

PORTABLE HEATER CARE
Cleaning
NOTE: It is recommended that the portable heater be cleaned at
least once a month and before seasonal storage.
1. Turn off the portable heater and unplug from outlet.
2. Allow the portable heater to cool before cleaning.
3. When the portable heater is cool, use a soft, dry cloth to
clean the external surface.
Storing
NOTE: It is recommended that the portable heater be cleaned
before seasonal storage.
1. Clean the external surface of the portable heater. See
“Cleaning.”
2. Pack the portable heater in the original container, if possible,
and store in a cool, dry place.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the portable heater.
TROUBLESHOOTING
First try the solutions suggested here and possibly avoid the cost of a service call...

If the portable heater turns off
Check the following:
■ Is the current room temperature the same or higher than the
temperature setting?
■ Is the portable heater plugged into a working outlet?
■ Press POWER on the control panel or the ON button on the
remote control. See “Portable Heater Use.”
■ Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized
service representative.

Before calling for assistance or service, please check
“Troubleshooting.” It may save you the cost of a service call. If
you still need help, follow the instructions below.
