Technical file at *4) - see page 3. The machine is suitable for dry sanding of flat and elliptical surfaces, wood, plastics, non-ferrous metals, sheet metal and similar filled and painted surfaces. The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by unspecified use. Generally accepted accident prevention regulations and the enclosed safety information must be observed. For your own protection and for the protection of your electrical tool, pay attention to all parts of the text that are marked with this symbol! WARNING – Reading the operating instruc- tions will reduce the risk of injury. WARNING Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow all safety warn- ings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Keep all safety instructions and information for future reference. Pass on your electrical tool only together with these documents. Pull the plug out of the plug socket before any adjustments or servicing are performed. Wear hearing protection when working for a longer period of time. High noise levels over a prolonged period of time may affect your hearing. Materials that generate dusts or vapours that may be harmful to health (e.g. asbestos) must not be processed. Dust from material such as paint containing lead, some wood species, minerals and metal may be harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory diseases to the operator or bystanders. Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic such as oak and beech dust especially in conjunction with additives for wood conditioning (chromate, wood preservative). Material containing asbestos must only be treated by specialists. - Use a dust extractor or the dust collection box where possible. - To achieve a high level of dust collection, use a suitable Metabo vacuum cleaner together with this tool. - The work place must be well ventilated. - The use of a dust mask of filter class P2 is recommended. Follow national requirements for the materials you want to work with. Clamp the sanding disc to a clamping element. Pull it tightly over the sanding plate (1) and clamp to the other clamping element. 7.1 Switching on and off To start the machine, press the trigger (3). For continuous operation the trigger can be locked with the lock button (4). To stop the machine, press the trigger again. 7.2 Dust Extraction For optimum dust extraction: Ensure that the holes on the sanding disc are aligned with the sanding plate extraction holes. Own extraction system: The dust collection box (7) (Supplied equipment SR 10-23 Intec) is available for the SR 10-23, SR 20-23 as an accessory. Extraction device: SR 10-23 Intec: Remove dust collection box (7) towards the back. SR 10-23, SR 20-23: Remove sealing cap (6). An extraction device can be connected to the ejection nozzle (5). ENGLISH en 7 Note: When sanding abrasive material (e.g. plaster, etc.) we recommend connecting a suitable dust extractor. Emptying dust collection box (SR 10-23 Intec): Open cleaning flap (8). Empty dust collection box (7). Remove sanding dust filter (9) and knock off dust stuck to filter or remove with brush. During insertion: Ensure that sanding dust filter is inserted into lateral guides. Clean the machine regularly. This includes vacuum cleaning the ventilation louvres on the motor. Use only genuine Metabo accessories. Use only accessories which fulfil the requirements and specifications listed in these operating instruc- tions. Emission values These values make it possible to assess the emissions from the power tool and to compare different power tools. Depending on the operating conditions, the condition of the power tool or the accessories, the actual load may be higher or lower. For assessment purposes, please allow for breaks and periods when the load is lower. Based on the adjusted estimates, arrange protective measures for the user e.g. organisational measures.
