ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following :
• Read all instructions.
• The accessible surfaces may become hot during use. Do not touch hot
surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not place any part of the toaster in water or
other liquid. See instructions for cleaning.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by
children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and it’s cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
• Always unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool be-
fore cleaning or handling.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
has malfunctioned or has been dropped or damaged in any way, or if it is not
operating properly. The toaster must be repaired by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Magimix may cause injury.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over the edge of the table or countertop or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
• Do not use this toaster for other than intended use.
• The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible
material, such as curtains. Do not operate under wall cabinets.
• To avoid possibility of fire, do not leave toaster unattended during use.
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
• This appliance is intended solely for domestic use.
The following usages are not covered by the warranty: in kitchen areas
reserved for personnel in shops, offices and other workplace environments, on
farms, by the patrons of hotels, motels and other commercial environments of a
residential nature, and in bed and breakfast-type environments.
• Use a dust cloth on parts that come into contact with bread.

• Make sure you dispose of any crumbs regularly by emptying the crumb-tray
which is on the lower part of the toaster.
• After unlocking the doors, clean the inner and outer panes with a damp cloth.
• Oversize foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster,
as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
• Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into electrical outlet.
• The bread may burn during the toasting process or due to a bread crump falling
on the heating element. Your appliance is designed to resist this rare occurrence.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR SHORT CORD INSTRUCTION
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used
to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer
cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cordset or extension cord should be at
least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over
unintentionally.
If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding-type 3-wire cord.
